Dr. Christopher Stephenson
Now, eating is one of the great pleasures of life, and what we choose to eat will ultimately decide the fate of our health, and it’s not all genetics like a lot of doctors tell people. I mean if you tell someone it’s all genetics, then in essence, you’re telling them there’s nothing you can about it.”
Dr. Christopher Stephenson is a unique physician in the field of cardiology, while other physicians are promoting new medicines, Dr. Stephenson takes a holistic approach, which doesn’t focus on the diseases but on the health of the patients. He strongly believes that healing a patient means eliminating their reliance on prescription medication and avoiding any risky treatments. Moreover, Dr. Stephenson is always present with the patient during their treatment and pays close attention to how they react to his integrative cardiology. Nutrition is also a key factor in his practice, he offers a unique therapy called nutraceutical supplements. He also guides his patients to make significant changes in their lifestyle, and a plant-based diet is a must in his therapy because it minimizes the clogging of the valves and arteries.
Kale, spinach, swiss chard, you name it, and then, put them in your high-speed blender along with some fruit and some liquid. Again this is so easy, I literally put one together in five minutes.”
Specialization
Dr. Christopher Stephenson specializes in Internal Medicine, Integrative Medicine, and Lipidology. Utilizing integrative medicine was a long-time dream of Dr. Stephenson, and he fulfilled it with Pure Cardiology. People think, ‘It just won’t happen to me. My grandfather smoked every day and lived to 95’. The stress of everyday living can get in the way. They’re thinking about how to get the kids home from school, what they are going to make for dinner tonight, what’s going to happen at work tomorrow. So, the heart pump is what we call a left ventricular device assist device or an LVAD, and what the heart does it’s surgically implanted, so one of our surgeons will implant the device, the chest is open, and the heart pump basically piggybacks on to the heart and so while the heart is pumping there’s more blood getting pumped around the heart to support or assist the heart.”

I realized that being a great doctor is not only knowing your medical information, it’s really being able to connect and engage patients. Motivate them to take good care of themselves.”
Dr. Sandy Charles is among the youngest cardiologist in North Carolina; however, she is an amazing doctor. She genuinely cares for her patients and often tells them what to avoid and what to incorporate into their life.
